Powered by a fleet of industrial high-temperature systems spanning high-performance, engineering, and commodity polymers, the service is now available for online ordering through the JLC3DP platform.

INTAMSYS, a global leader in industrial FFF 3D printing solutions, and JLC3DP, one of the world’s largest online 3D printing service providers, today jointly announced the launch of PEEK and PEKK 3D printing services on the JLC3DP platform. Customers can now order PEEK and PEKK parts at https://jlc3dp.com/ with instant quoting and intelligent production scheduling.

The production line is not limited to high-temperature specialty polymers. Leveraging the FUNMAT series’ coverage across high-performance and engineering material categories, the line supports high-performance polymers such as PEEK, PEKK, and PEI, as well as engineering and commodity materials including PA, PC, ABS, and PLA. This enables an efficient, single-line production model spanning a broad material portfolio.

The launch marks an important step for high-performance polymer 3D printing, moving the technology from small-batch prototyping toward scalable online production while also expanding capacity for a wider range of engineering-plastic orders.

From Single-Machine Trials to Fleet-Level Production

PEEK (polyetheretherketone) and PEKK (polyetherketoneketone) are among the most challenging polymers to 3D print. With melting temperatures around 343°C, they place demanding requirements on thermal control, crystallization management, and interlayer bonding. Producing one successful PEEK or PEKK part on a single machine is fundamentally different from manufacturing parts consistently, repeatably, and at scale across a production fleet.

JLC3DP has deployed dozens of INTAMSYS FUNMAT industrial FFF systems to build a production-scale line covering both high-performance and engineering polymers. Three printer models serve distinct production roles:

  • FUNMAT PRO 610HT — The core platform for large-format, high-temperature, and geometrically complex parts. With a build volume of 610 × 508 × 508 mm and independent dual extrusion, it supports PEI, PEEK, PEKK, PPA, and a wide range of engineering polymers. Its actively heated chamber maintains a stable thermal environment across the build volume, supporting consistent, low-warp production of large PAEK parts.
  • FUNMAT PRO 310 APOLLO — The high-speed production platform for small- to medium-size high-performance polymer parts. APOLLO significantly reduces cycle times while maintaining PAEK print quality, making it a key enabler of JLC3DP’s fast turnaround for PEEK and PEKK orders.
  • FUNMAT PRO 310 NEO — The volume-production platform for small- to medium-size engineering-polymer parts. It supports PA, PC, ABS, PLA, and other widely used materials, complementing the high-temperature production line and handling JLC3DP’s broader order volume.

Why INTAMSYS? JLC3DP’s Equipment Selection Criteria

As one of the world’s largest 3D printing service providers, JLC3DP evaluated more than individual machine specifications. Its selection process focused on the broader engineering requirements of fleet-scale production.

  • Active Chamber Heating: Unlike passive insulation, the FUNMAT PRO 610HT’s actively controlled chamber reaches up to 300°C and maintains a uniform thermal field across the build area. This helps reduce warpage and delamination in large PEEK and PEKK parts and represents a critical distinction between successful prototyping and stable production.
  • APOLLO’s Combination of Speed and Performance: Designed specifically for production with PEEK and other high-performance polymers, the FUNMAT PRO 310 APOLLO delivers PEEK print speeds of up to 200 mm/s—more than four times faster than conventional high-temperature systems. Its independent dual extrusion system supports mirror and duplicate modes, while the 100°C chamber, coordinated thermal management, and dual 3 kg active drying chambers enable continuous production for up to one week.
  • Fleet-Wide Consistency and INTAMQuality™ Traceability: When dozens of printers operate in parallel, even small process variations can affect delivery quality. Consistent hardware architecture and unified firmware management help maintain repeatable performance across machines running the same material and process package. INTAMQuality™ further records material batches, nozzle and chamber temperature profiles, drying-chamber conditions, and layer-level process data, creating a complete production record for each part.
  • Broad Material Coverage: The FUNMAT portfolio spans commodity polymers, engineering materials, and high-performance polymers—from ABS and PLA to PC, PA, PEI, PEEK, and PEKK. A unified equipment platform and operating logic simplify production scheduling, operator training, and process management while enabling customers to access a broad material portfolio through one online service.

Online, Instant, and Scalable: JLC3DP’s Service Model

JLC3DP’s competitive advantage extends beyond equipment scale to a mature digital operating system. The workflow is already familiar to millions of engineers worldwide: upload a 3D model → receive an instant quote → place and pay for the order → enter automated production scheduling → manufacture parts across the printer fleet → complete quality inspection → receive delivery. From file upload to final shipment, every step is digital, standardized, and traceable.

Integrating PEEK and PEKK into this established workflow means engineers can order high-performance polymer parts through the same process they already use for SLA resin or MJF nylon parts, with virtually no additional learning curve.

  • Intelligent Scheduling: Real-time dispatch algorithms assign orders across dozens of systems based on priority, material type, and machine load, helping maximize fleet utilization while supporting committed lead times.
  • Standardized Process Library: Each material-machine combination is validated and stored as a reusable process package before launch on the platform.
  • End-to-End Quality Control: First-article dimensional inspection, in-process sampling, and final visual inspection help maintain consistency across machines and production batches.
  • Integrated Supply Chain: JLC3DP shares logistics and customer infrastructure with JLC3DP Group’s PCB, CNC, and other manufacturing services, supporting a cross-process, one-stop manufacturing experience.

Two capabilities underpin this service model: INTAMSYS’s thermal stability, cross-machine consistency, and broad material coverage; and JLC3DP’s experience in digital manufacturing operations. Together, they transform high-performance polymer printing from a specialist service into a standardized online manufacturing option.

“Moving from ‘printing PEEK’ to ‘producing PEEK at scale’ requires more than adding machines. It requires an engineered system for process control, quality assurance, and production scheduling. JLC3DP is our largest single customer worldwide, and its FUNMAT PRO 610HT and 310 APOLLO fleet demonstrates that production-scale PEEK and PEKK service is no longer a concept—it is already operating.”

Key Application Industries for PEEK and PEKK 3D Printing

PEEK and PEKK offer high thermal stability, mechanical strength, chemical resistance, inherent flame retardancy, and low outgassing. 3D printing also enables complex geometries that are difficult or impossible to produce through injection molding or CNC machining, making these materials especially valuable for low-volume, high-mix, and rapid-iteration applications.

  • Aerospace: Lightweight brackets, cable clamps, and UAV structural parts.
  • Medical Devices: Surgical guides, implant trial components, and functional prototypes.
  • Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing: Wafer fixtures, test sockets, and connector insulators.
  • Robotics: End effectors, lightweight joint housings, and sensor brackets.
  • New Energy and Batteries: Cell insulation components, battery-pack structural parts, and high-voltage connectors.
  • Oil, Gas, and Chemicals: Downhole tooling components, sealing rings, and H₂S-resistant parts.
  • General Manufacturing: High-temperature wear-resistant gears, seals, pump and valve components, and custom tooling and fixtures.

“Adding PEEK and PEKK to the platform is an important step in extending JLC3DP’s capabilities from broad, high-volume coverage into higher-value engineering applications. Our goal is not simply to offer low-cost 3D printing, but to solve real engineering challenges. PEEK and PEKK are only the beginning, and we will continue expanding our high-temperature material portfolio and process capabilities.”
